Merci

Yesterday Live 8 was a great event to put pressure on G8 leaders. Several concerts took place in several cities and several countries at the same time. The aim was to raise founds for famine relief in Ethiopia

Bob Geldof organized them in 1985, then in 2005.

In 1985 the show was called 'Live Aid', in 2005 the last one wa called 'Live8'.

In every city there were ambassadors, for example (c'est à dire) artists such as Madonna, U2, Coldplay etc.., and some actor such as Will Smith and famous visitors called the icons such as Nelson Mandela and Kofi Annan, the secretary of United Nations who was in Hyde Park.

The concert's logo was the word LIVE on which was drawn the figure 8. Under the figure 8 we could see the African continent. The logo formed a guitar. The figure 8 symbolized G8 Summit, and the shape of the figure represented a continent devoid of wealth: Africa.

A fan answered my questions:

- Pauline was going to speak to us about the concert, hello pauline, where did you go?

- Hello I went to the concert in Rome, because there was an actor Will Smith, he's my favourite actor.

- Why Will Smith asked to click of fingers?

-He asked for it to show that each time we clicked of fingers, one person dies of poverty in the world.

- What did you think of this concert? I liked well and this concert was for a good cause,to make a donation to a charity. I appreciated the atmosphere, the singers, the show and especially the aim of this concert.

Bob Geldoff answered my questions.

-Hello Bob, Could you tell me what was the aims about Live Aid and Live 8?

-The first concert was to raise founds in order to reduce the debts and the famine in Ethiopia. The second one in 2005 was to put pressure on the G8 summit and show the poverty in the world.

-Did the artists at once/now agree to participate? (Les artistes ont-ils accepté tout de suite?)

-Yes, some were here for the show 20 years ago. The poverty in the world is an important cause for them.

-Did you plan to organize a concert in 20 years or early?

We shall wait to see if G8 reacts. If not why not?

Bonsoir,

Merci monsieur.

... Sinon vous pouvez continuer votre discussion <_<:D
