Mon oral Idea of Progress

So, I'm going to talk about the notion of « Idea of progress ».

First of all, I would like to give a definition of this notion. The Idea of progress can be defined as an improvement, a developpement or so shall advance which makes the world better. We are confronted on these changes on a daily bases and have perhaps witnessed (témoin) more changes on the last 50' years than our ancestors did in over two undred years.

First of all, we can ask ourselves what effect the technological progress has on society. Is it a positiv one or a negativ one ?

We have seen documents, the first one is called « Man vs machine » and the second is called « Marvel Thor The dark world ». I will present to you the two aspects of progress.

 

To begin with I would like to talk about the technological progress because it's a representation of our present world where technology becomes better every day.

 

For instance we've seen that Wtson created by IBM gave technology the power to change the way of life. IBM succeded in changing robotics and artificial intelligence by creating a smal device (produit). The Watson by IBM which enables us to creat new knowledge and technology when ever we want.

The, Thor is a film but we studied a text from inovation blog. This document is about famous people promoting science. Natalie Portman and marvel's project is to empower girls in : SETM. STEM means : Science, Technology, Engeneering and Mathematics. Jane Foster is a scientist in the film she speaks about a life changing apportunity for girls. The team created a competition on the web for young girls. The teenagers have to make a video which should contain information about the interview they did with a famous scientist woman.

 

To sum up, new technologies in general have improuved our living condition.

The progresse in robotics are impressive because Watson can struggle against the humans' intelligence. Moreover, the progress give some work for womens. This progress change the womens' figure in our society because womens bring a new visions in our present world.
