To start with i'd like to give a definition of Idea of progress. The notion of progress refers to the social evolutions. My presentation will deal with this question how does modern technology affect the today's society? We will see first the new technologies improve the life social. Finally, the inconveniences of the technical progress. To start with, thanks to the development of new technologies the way of communicating populations of the world profoundly changed. The progress of Internet and smartphones transforms profoundly the habits of life and human relations.Indeed, Internet allows to make many things; we can be at the other of the planet and be in touch with our close relations by networks social as Skype, Facebook, Whatsapp. According to statistics of internet uses coming from the Internet Word Stat, realized in April, 2017, we count 3,81 billion Internet users, that is 51 % of the population. All that we make today is connected with Internet, because we find there absolutely (So, we buy and sell on the Internet, we travel, educates itself, we command meals, we play, and even love, thanks to the sites of meeting). Finally, Internet thus allows to improve life of people, because about 75 % of the Internet users assert that their life is better thanks to Internet. So, all elements, make of internet the tool the most used in our world. In fact, thanks in technology and computers, we have now, people could work at home, It is what we can see with the case of Annie in the text “Does it suit everyone ?”. According to her, technology allows to be more productive “And even be more productive” l.14. And, it allows to be close to this family“ getting home so late at night that i never saw my family” l.10. Furthermore, a virtual company it's too positive as regards the environment, because does not pollute, and do not depend on public transports in case there is a strike.
