Oral d'Espagnol La Idea de progreso

Bonsoir !

Notion bac / Myths and heroes

Bonjour ! Merci d'avance ! I’d like to define the notion Myths and heroes. A myth is a story, a legend. It appeared to explain natural phenomena. Myths are also a way to create unity among a population, a feeling of belonging, which is necessary in our society to evolve. A hero can be someone who is ready to sacrifice his life in order to make things evolved positively, can also be the main character or real (Mandela, Gandhi, a single parent, an activist or Mr Avarage= Mr tout le monde like The Suffragettes) or belong to fiction (Jhonny English, Wonder Women..) a patriotic or national hero. In both cases, they are people who have moral values and fight for noble cause. My presentation will deal with this question how does myths can have an impact in social life ? We will see first which characteristics can reflect British people. Then, we will illustrate this notion with famous British characters. Finally, we shall see that britishness reflect also British union. Britishness defines the British characters, and it is the myth for being British. For us, British are people who drink a lot of tea, in fact, British people consume 60 billion cups per year, according to The Tea and Infusions Organisation. Have a typical Building like Big Ben, a posh accent and are haughty and snobbish people etc.. But those are stereotypes spread by television and movies. Most of the stereotypes are true, like drinking tea everyday at 5 o'clock, but being British is more than that. Indeed, being British is about having a good sense of humour. Jhonny English’s movie is a perfect illustration which reflects British sense of humor. It is a parody of James Bond movies staging Rowan Atkinson, a British actor. In fact, this film is inspired by James Bond and Mister Bean’s humour, described by Atkinson as "a child in a grown man's body", in solving various problems presented by everyday and often causing disruption in the process. It reflects British’s typical sense of humor and their eccentricity, such as these two images. We can see a british punk in london, his look is eccentric because he wear a crest of hair and a costume, what can seem rather original because we rarely see punks in a suit and tie. Nevertheless, this look can reflect a form of rebellion against social convention or revendication of freedom expression and also reflect to English creativity and inventiveness. British possess a high respect of their country, what urges them to try to distance themselves besides from world, in particular through their personalities. Besides, known artists also reflect this eccentric image; as Amy Winehouse, a British singer died in 2011. Which had an incredible style, and wearing a mop of hair. Moreover, being British in United Kingdom is considered being proud of your culture as British are very proud notion. It shines the humour, their attitude and their culture. In fact, British people are very courageous, because they have explored a lot of territories and are a great sailors. The text « Men who follow the sea » deals myths of explorations and navigations like American’s discovery by Chrisopher Colombus in 1492. The story speaks about Marlow’s exploration, a character of British sailor created by Joseph Conrad. We find in this text, several elements which make a reference to the exploration of new territories as “Sir Francis Drake” l.8; who has a sailor who conquered new territory's, or involved in piracy and illicit slave trading, and collected much gold. Also, much cities like “Deptford” a district of the Southeast of London, and “Greenwich” a district of London, know for his maritime heritage. This cities are steeped in history of the sea and build the power of British. Marlow recounts all the pioneers of the Thames River, all commissioned to exploration by the crown, and reveres these historical figures. Finally, Marlow's exploration is a metaphor of British society, who reflecting certain aspects of that society, as the industrial revolution and the British colonial Empire as well as its specific insular geographical position makes it a unique country. Nevertheles, in spite of their culture extended to the world, British protect their traditions not to be influenced by outside evolution, that is why they want to withdraw from the European Union, the procedure to begin March 29th, 2017.

    Oral / Idea of Progress

Bonjour ! To start with i'd like to give a definition of Idea of progress. The notion of progress refers to the social evolutions. There are many sorts of progress: economic, medical, political, social and technological. This progress allows then to improve the living conditions and the world. Nevertheless, the progress can have advantages and inconveniences. In our society, the technology became an essential tool, allowing to realize incredible things, or not. My presentation will deal with this question how does modern technology affect the today's society? We will see first the new technologies improve the life social. Finally, the inconveniences of the technical progress. To start with, thanks to the development of new technologies the way of communicating populations of the world profoundly changed. The progress of Internet and smartphones transforms profoundly the habits of life and human relations. Indeed, Internet allows to make many things; we can be at the other of the planet and be in touch with our close relations by networks social as Skype, Facebook, Whatsapp. According to statistics of internet uses coming from the Internet Word Stat, realized in April, 2017, we count 3,81 billion Internet users, that is 51 % of the population. All that we make today is connected with Internet, because we find there absolutely (So, we buy and sell on the Internet, we travel, educates itself, we command meals, we play, and even love, thanks to the sites of meeting). Finally, Internet thus allows to improve life of people, because about 75 % of the Internet users assert that their life is better thanks to Internet. So, all elements, make of internet the tool the most used in our world. In fact, thanks in technology and computers, we have now, people could work at home, It is what we can see with the case of Annie in the text “Does it suit everyone ?”. According to her, technology allows to be more productive “And even be more productive” l.14. And, it allows to be close to this family“ getting home so late at night that i never saw my family” l.10. Furthermore, a virtual company it's too positive as regards the environment, because does not pollute, and do not depend on public transports in case there is a strike. In the United States we consider at approximately 50 million people who use a computer to work at home. And your hcompany does not spend money on paying for a rent for brick. Nevertheless, the telecommuting is a factor of isolation. Certainly, Internet facilitates the searches and the information exchange, but workers are not grouped in commonplace. More and more people spend hours to be surfed to make esearches there, or "to discuss" with "friends" via the social networks, not to feel alone “"We want people to contact us," said Elise Cramer in the conference “Students Uplung”. "Without that, I think you feel lonely..”. l.63. Indeed, it is a negative vision because we depend only on the presence of other one. Nevertheless, the "presence" of these virtual friends drives more easily an individual to isolate itself of real life. A study has revealed that 30 % of active people on the diverse social networks do not even know one of their neighbors. Furthermore, the social isolation has direct impacts on the health “"I think these devices are addictive," said Gutlerne, l.78. According to a British study published in 2010, to spend too much only time would be also dangerous as to smoke 15 cigarettes not in the daytime. Finally, British series Black Mirror created by Charlie Brooker, who knew an international succes, denounce the influence of new technologies on people and questions the unexpected consequences that new technologies could have and how the latter influence his users. otre aide pour corriger ma synthèse..

Oral / places and forms of power

Bonjour ! I’ld like to give a definition of the notion Places and forms of Power. Power is the ability to exercice authority and influence over others, like dictator, wars, discrimination... It can be exerted in different spheres : economy, politics, media, internet. The places evoke a police stations (laws, justice, rules), a prison, a capital cities and « places » can be home also because parents represent authority, these are rules to respect. It can be school too. To what extent can we say that universities are instruments of power? We shall see at first the positive aspects of the studies superior to the USA. Then, we shall observe the consequences that undergo the students. Nowadays, tuition fees are a subject which rests the problem of cause, particularly in the USA, but also Great Britain. Thus, in these countries to have the access to the university depends on our financial means. Nevertheless, it can become difficult for the poor families, which cannot pay all the time tuition fees. We shall wonder how the American universities influence strongly the future of the students. The university can transmit a common culture and common standards of citizenship, and teach different skills. Students can meet new people and enrich their knowledge. They learn how to live without their parents, to be independent, to get more mature. Besides, the American university is internationally recognized for the quality of his education and its equipment. Often, a big part of the world elite goes out of its rows (researchers, engineers, businessmen and women). The American universities estimate strongly the best sportsmen, presented as elements the main part to estimate the reputation of the University. It is what we can see in the text "It's about academics, Coach", in which Jojo, a famous student on the campus, is strongly estimated "He was has the star of basketball" l.20. He doesn't need to work hard and to get good marks to succed : The University would be ready to change his mark. Often movies reflect us an image idealized the American universities, without revealing us the reality. In the USA, the cost of university is really expensive. Indeed, the American universities are committed in a competition between establishments. So, everything is installed to attract the best profiles, like Jojo, and this politics to an important cost. To offer to the students the campus most modern and more attractive than the rival establishments, universities realize massive expenses which the students pay directly by their registration fees. Nevertheless, it is not then without consequence. The text " How I avoid student loans " studied in class, shows us the difficulty that experience, beacause some students towards the university " So, I always just seemed to know that college would be expensive” l.12. Besides, the article " of the Washington Post " shows us that 36 % of the students do not eat in their hunger because they have no enough money to feed. We also observe the same case in Great Britain, because in October, 2010, the English Government passed a new law which gives to the university the right to increase their tuition fees. Indeed, the American education system, differs completely from the French system. Because ' in the United States, the students pay on average 18 000 dollars, or 50 000 dollars for the most prestigious universities. Whereas in France, tuition fees are lesser: from 200 to 400 euros according to the level of the university. Besides, on October 7th, 2012 Michelle Obama publishes a message of staff, on Twitter , calling back that the couple had adjusted its last student loans only recently " Eight years ago, adjusted us the last one of our student loans. Now of work to make the education of more accessible Barack for students today. " It reflects these American studies which put in the debt the young students until the adulthood. To conclude, the access to the studies superiors can be advantageous for our future. Because by having a diploma, i have the power to have a good work and a better life of. Nevertheless, universities can have an influence on them student as we can notice it with the case of Jojo. Besides, this problem is not ready to improve because in his article " the United States: tuition fees make due generations for the life " published in 13/04/2017, the Journalist RTL François Lenglet, explains that the debt of the students affects 1.300 billion dollars. So there is today 44 million students who got into debt to finance their studies and 8 millions of them cannot pay.
