This subject is still relevant today, on account of the international crisis that has begun in 2008. A lot of bank go bankrupt thus governments have to loan out money to them. In the text, the autors explain the subprime system. It's very developped in United States, it permits to increase consuption and economic growth. Therefore, for a good health of american economic, loans are very easy to access. However, the autors criticize borrowers in line 6: 'ineducated homebuyers' , they deal with minorities like Hispanics and African American. They have to afford the monthly payments. They ready to take a chance because it's a quick way to be homeownership.
