Révision Vocabulaire Sous D'un Dialogue

Bonjour,

Mon frère Quentin s'entraîne à faire un dialogue avec Paul son copain du 3ème étage. Son dialogue est au présent puisque c'est dans l'instant, il cherche des synonymes aux mots ou verbes, je les lui mettrai entre parenthèses). Ils s'entraineront ensemble, son copain descendra chez nous et mon frère lui fera visiter en anglais l'appartement. Voici son dialogue:

(Au départ il dit derrière la porte: Someone is knocked or rung at the door!)

-Ah it is you I suspected it! Hello Paul, pleas enter my appartment. How did your day happen ? Was it good, pretty good (not so bad) or very bad?

-I had a good day (my day passed well).

-At first I am going to make you a visit of my apartment. Here we are in the corridor(entrance), you see the hall stand where I hang on all my jackets and umbrellas, here you can see the front door (la porte d'entrée). Then if you have to go to for a pee the toilet and just close door (near) to wash you hands the bathroom is here. Let us enter (come into) the bathroom, you can see that there is a washing machine, clothes hanger to dry the clothes, my pullovers, my trousers, my tee-shirts and so on (and etc) the washbasin, the bathtub to have baths but I take only rarely baths and here is the shower, I take showers every day.Near the washbasin there are all the cosmetics (beauty products) for the girls, a purple (violet) soap, two pieces of furnitures (two cupboards) to order (to tidy up) the towels and another one for the products of pharmacy.

Let us go out from here, here is the living room. Here we can rest (we can take a rest), read, listen to some music or look at the TV. My father likes staying there to make of the computer, he has a laptop on the coffee table. I often read here.

Thus the TV is over there in front of the sofa, at the bottom of the room we sit down on a chair and we have breakfast, lunch and the dinner. The sofa is cream and red coloured, on the walls postcards are hung on. Next to the hifi-system my mother stores cd, audio tapes and DVDs. There are many (a lot of) plants in this room. Then the wooden dresser where my father stores(tidies up) his wine bottles.

Then we enter (come in) kitchen. My mother makes here many things (dishes) when she has the time. It is the place where the good smell reaches (come to) us. Here is the drawer where are stored(tidied up) forks, knives, teaspoons, table spoons, pair of cissors and kitchenware (cookware). If you are thirsty you can take some fruit juice in the refrigerator (fridge). The coffee machine and the kettle are indispensable (essential) for the breakfast. Are you thirsty?

- Yes I am.

-Would you like to drink an orange juice or anything esle?

-An orange juice please.

-which color is the fridge?

- it is white.

-Yes it is and which color is the microwaves?

-it is brown. Yes chestnut (brown) as my hair, you, you are a fair-haired (blond-haired) boy. My sister is fair-haired too. Do you want to visit my room?

-Yes. Here it is, I sleep here. How much furniture are there (you can see)?

-There are two.

-Yes a white one and a second in wooden. I am going to show you the office(desk) of my mother. She has a computer and it is the only computer for all the family.Here are shelves on which are put the telephone and the dictionaries. Oh my exercise book and my magasines are here. Well, come see the balcony, you too you have a balcony? There are flowers and plants. Let us return! You live upstairs from me. In what floor do you live?

-I live on the 3rd.floor

- Yes and me on the second. To come and see me you go down stairways and me I have to go up a floor.

What sport do you practise?

-I do karate.

-Have you another activity?

-Yes I learn the violin.

-Do you like English at the school?

-Yes a lot but I cannot speak as our professor.

-Would you like to learn another language?

- I would like to learn Chinese.

-You are right it is attractive but surely difficult.

- Pour tout ce qui se consomme, solide ou liquide, l'anglais emploie presque toujours have, presque jamais eat/drink.

- Idem pour la douche, le bain : have a shower/bath.

- Furniture = le mobilier/les meubles. - Un meuble = a piece of furniture.

- Débarrasse-toi vite de la mauvaise habitude qui consiste à "mettre la charrue avant les boeufs". Autrement dit, ne fais pas d'inversion verbe-sujet, comme en français. N'oublie pas que tu écris en anglais.

- Enfin efforce-toi d'écrire en BE (British English) plutôt qu'en AE (American English), ie colour<-->color, flat<-->apartment.

Ceci dit, c'est plutôt pas mal. Keep up the good work!

-Can you count until hundred? (sais-tu compter jusqu'à cent?)

-Could you please recite the alphabet? (Peux-tu me réciter l'alhabet?)

-What is the day/date today? (Quel jour sommes-nous?) On a du mal à dire les jours à l'oral et sur papier on confond

-'Today is Sunday the twenty-eightth of June' (ça c'est à l'oral) Je rajoute 'th' à la fin du nombre 'eight' parce qu'on le prononce, je crois.

- When were you born? (Quel jour es-tu né?)

- Iwas brn on the third of January 1993 (nineteen ninety-three)

- Have you got a nicname?

- You don't know what is a nickname, a nickname is an another name we give you for example, you are tall, so we can nmed you 'the giant'.

Je voudrais poser à mon copain les questions suivantes, on revoit ensemble les bases:

-Can you count up to one hundred? (sais-tu compter jusqu'à cent?)<until s'emploie plutôt avec un complément de temps.

-Could you please say the alphabet? (Peux-tu me réciter l'alhabet?)

-What is the day/date today? (Quel jour sommes-nous?) On a du mal à dire les jours à l'oral et sur papier on confond .<Il faut les apprendre par coeur et les écrire aussi !

-'Today is Saturday (< Sunday is tomorrow!) the twenty-eighth of June' (ça c'est à l'oral) Je rajoute 'h' à la fin du nombre 'eight' parce qu'on le prononce, je crois. <Oui ! Mais tu n'ajoutes que le h puisque le t est déjà là !

- When were you born? (Quel jour es-tu né?)

- I was born on the third of January 1993 (nineteen ninety-three)

- Have you got a nickname?

- You don't know what is a nickname, a nickname is another<an se soude à other, inutile d'en rajouter un autre ! name we give you for example, you are tall, so we can name / call you 'the giant'.
