(N'hésitez pas à le démolir, je voudrait qu'il soit vraiment bien à la fin) MERCI MERCI MERCI !!! Buying a car is more expensive in Europe than in America. The weakness of the dollar is not the only explanation. The taxes levied in most European countries are higter than those in America. Futhermore, this value-added taxes are include in the sticker prices of the cars in Europe whereas it is not the case in America. The competition is another factor to take into account to explain the difference of prices: -In America, the competition between imports from Europe drive down costs. -But in Europe, the competition between the countries has been slowed down by protectionist attitudes : althought some efforts have been made, a lack of standardization of the rules make difficult the sales of cars thoughout Europe. Another difference between the american and the european market is that, in Europe, cars are often sale through distributors and the dealers offer little choice of brand. But a prices fall will possibly occur in Europe by the end of this century.
