Ma problématique est : Can birds of a different feather flock together or opposites attract ? Merci d'avance ! Finally, I will finish my presentation on my personal document which is the trailer of the Disney animated movie : Zootopia. This movie tells the story of Judy, a rabbit which join the police of Zootopia and decides to prove her worth. So she tackle an affair which is going to oblige her to team up with Nick, a fox. The city of Zootopia is a metropolis which looks like no other one : only animals live there and that we are whether an huge elephant or a tiny mouse, everybody has its place there. Moreover, the social order of the city is a version “animalized” of our society, revealing the reality of stereotypes and professional disparities. In this way, Judy represents the “cute” and “stupid” rabbits and thus “incapable to defend a city” whereas Nick represents the foxes as all “sly and clever” whom we can’t trust if they become police officers. And so Judy and Nick form an odd couple because they are very different. Indeed, Nick is supposed to be the predator and Judy the prey. Despite their breed and the stereotypes, they became friend and solved the affair.

Finally, I will finish my presentation on my personal document which is the trailer of the Disney's animated movie cartoon, Zootopia. This movie tells the story of Judy, a rabbit which joins the police of Zootopia and decides to prove her worth. The city of Zootopia is a metropolis which looks like no other one : only animals live there and that we are whether they are an < le "h" est aspiré > huge elephant or a tiny mouse, everybody has its place there. Moreover, the social order of the city is an “animalized” < l'adjectif DEVANT le nom > version “animalized” of our society, revealing the reality of stereotypes and professional disparities. (In) This way, Judy represents the “cute” and “stupid” rabbits and thus “incapable to defend a city” whereas Nick represents the foxes as all “sly and clever” whom < Ce sont quand même des animaux > which we can’t trust if they become police officers. So Judy and Nick form an odd couple because they are very different. Indeed, Nick is supposed to be the predator and Judy the prey. Despite their breed and the stereotypes, they became friends and solved the affair.

Ma problématique est : Can birds of a different feather flock together ? Merci d'avance ! My presentation is going to deal with “the Odd Couple”. An odd couple is two people with a special connection or relationship but who are very different from each other. That’s why we may wonder can birds of a different feather flock together ? To answer this question I’m going to talk about an excerpt from the final chapter of The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde written by Robert Stevenson and an excerpt from the incipit of Of Mice and Men written by John Steinbeck. Finally, I will finish on the trailer of Disney’s cartoon : Zootopia which is my personal document. Now I’m going to start on my first document. This chapter is Jekyll’s confession about his character. On the one hand, he starts by writing that he loves being sober and respectable, yet on the other hand he craves pleasure and debauchery. As a scientist, he began to theorize that all men have a dark side. So he takes a potion and immediately feels both extreme pleasure and extreme wickedness. This wickedness is accompanied by a transformation into Mr. Hyde. He takes the potion and transforms back into Dr.Jekyll. He therefore does not succeed in separating the good from the evil. Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde form an odd couple because on the one hand they share the same body and on the other hand each is the opposite of the other one. Now I’m going to talk about the incipit of Of Mice and Men. This book tells the story of George and Lennie, two migrant farm workers. The novel begins with a detailed description of the characters. We may observe similarities and differences. On the one hand, both wear similar clothes and carry blanket rolls. On the other hand, Lennie is huge and describe like a bear whereas George is small and carefully defined. It’s obvious that there is mental differences : Lennie is handicapped mentally, indeed he is childlike and imitates George while the latter acts as a father or a brother. So we may say they form an odd couple. Indeed they have a special relationship, Lennie depends on George and George protects Lennie while they are very different from each other. Finally, I will finish my presentation on my personal document. This movie tells the story of Judy, a rabbit which joins the police of Zootopia. So she tackles an affair which is going to oblige her to team up with Nick, a fox. The city of Zootopia is a metropolis where small and big animals live together. Moreover, the social order of the city is an “animalized” version of our society, revealing the reality of stereotypes. Judy represents the “cute and stupid” rabbit and so “incapable to defend a city” whereas Nick represents the fox “sly and clever” which we can’t trust. So Judy and Nick form an odd couple because they are very different. Indeed, Nick is supposed to be the predator and Judy the prey. Despite their breed and stereotypes, they became friends and solved the affair. To sum up, I would say that the proverb “birds of a different feather flock together” is not correct. Indeed, this set of document shows that opposites attract because the “other” is fascinating and interesting. Some people enjoy learning something unfamiliar and new.
