Bonjour à tous, :)

J'ai à faire un devoir maison et je me demandais s'il était possible que vous corrigiez mes fautes. Ce devoir est composé de questions préalables et de deux expressions écrites qui sont les suivantes : A) A journalist writes a short magazine article to say why it is important to commemorate the World Wars. Write the article. (150 words, +/- 10%)

B) "No one would ever know what it was like to be here." Turner writes a letter to his mother to tell her about his war experiences. (150 words, +/- 10%)

Voici mes deux expressions : :)

A) A lot of reasons push people to say that it is important to commemorate the World Wars. Indeed, to commemorate is to remember officially and give respect to an event, especially by a public ceremony. In fact, it is a way to leave the mark on the minds. We hace memories' duty, that is to say the faculty in which the mind stores and remembers information. For that, commemoration is an institution which makes political sense. It shares rituals : it evokes soldiers' histories with emotion, sense and reality. It is a past reference, in tribute to the heroes of War, to the soldiers who gave their lives for they country's security. Commemoration is a symbol of respect. Furthermore, for the survivors and the victims, the commemoration has played an essential role : it has permited them to do a period of mourning and to overcome their suffering. Thus, to commemorate is to move towards peace and not to forget the soldiers' messages which were courage, sacrifice and patriotism. So, commemoration is important to create a prevailing memory.

B) My dear mother,

On next Monday, that will make two years that I didn't see you. I miss you terribly, I often think of you.

I'm living a dreadful situation. I meet awful things all time : bombed villages with debris, ruins, damage. But the most horrible is when I saw dead bodies lying in front of us. The stores in the city are abandoned, as well as the vehicles and the equipment : it is like a ghost town. I am always afraid that something happens to us. At night, it's more dire because I get very cold and sometimes I have to watch if nothing goes badly. However, when I sleep, I often do nightmare : I still see the dead bodies, the bombed villages... You know, I am in a hurry to see you again. It is unbearable ! But I'm strong and I resist !

I enclose a stamped addressed enveloppe where you can contact me.

I hope you don't worry about me and that everything is okay at home.

With much love from Turner.

Merci d'avance de votre réponse,

Je vous souhaite une bonne soirée.

PS : Je crois que j'ai fait une fausse manip' et il y a le copié collé du texte qui s'est affiché bizarrement :(

Document C [The scene takes place during the Second World War.]The convoy had entered a bombed village, or perhaps the suburb of a small town – the place was rubble and it was impossible to tell. Who would care? Who could ever describe this confusion, and come up with the village names and the dates for the history books? And take the reasonable view and begin to assign the blame? No one would ever know what it was like to be here. Without the details there could be no larger picture. The abandoned stores, equipment and vehicles made an avenue of scrap that spilled across their path. With this, and the bodies, they were forced to walk in the centre of the road. That did not matter because the convoy was no longer moving. Soldiers were climbing out of troop carriers and continuing on foot, stumbling over brick and roof tiles. The wounded were left in the lorries to wait. There was a greater press ofbodies in a narrower space, greater irritation.

A) A lot of reasons push people to say that it is important to commemorate the World Wars. Indeed, to commemorate is to commemorating consists in remembering officially and give respecting to an event, especially by a public ceremony.<<un gérondif (v-ing) peut prendre la fonction sujet d'un verbe, pas un infinitif  In fact, it is a way to leave the mark on the minds. We have memories' a duty of memory, that is to say the faculty in which the mind stores and remembers information.<<génifif grammaticalement impossible For that In order to do so, commemoration is an institution which makes political sense. It shares rituals: it evokes soldiers' histories with emotion, sense and reality. It is a past reference, in tribute to the heroes of War, to the soldiers who gave their lives for they :(their countries' security.<<contrairement au français, un nom, commun à plusieurs sujets, prend le pluriel Commemoration is a symbol of respect. Furthermore, for the survivors and the victims, the commemoration has played an essential role: it has permited enabled them to do a period of mourning and to overcome their suffering. Thus, to commemorate commemorating is to move towards peace and not to forget the soldiers' messages which were courage, sacrifice and patriotism. NB Il faut absolument éviter de passer par la case français pour écrire en anglais, donc penser et écrire directement en anglais.

Le raccourci clavier que j'utilise sans problème est : Ctrl C  / Ctrl V et le copié-collé s'affiche normalement.
