Bonjour,

Journalist : Hello everybody, I'm Deborah Miller in live from the CNN radio. It is 6pm and we will speak about a current topic which is still under debate. You know, they are the US-Mexico border's problems. What is happpening there and what are the consequences for the USA ? We are going to analize this situation. For this, I am in front of Manuela Hernandez, she was a migrant 7 years ago, and now she is the president of the Mexican migrants' association ; John Wilsson, an american citizen, and the speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Paul Ryan. So, Paul Ryan, you know the election campaign's plan of your colleage, Donald Trump ; what do you think about it ?

Paul Ryan : You know, Madam, the economic context of the USA is not simple ; wa have to manage the American citizens and the arrival of an important flow of Mexican migrants. So we have to take measures, in order to everything be done in the best conditions.

Journalist : Yes but you didn't talk about the wall which is imagined by Donald Trump. Can you bring us more informations ?

Paul Ryan : I could go with Mister Trump to a meeting in Mexico to present in front of the Mexican President, Enrique Pena Nieto, the wall's project. There is a state of uncertaintly around the financial aspects. Who is going to pay the wall ? There are a lot of discussions about this ; so, that stays an idea. This is not going to be realized soon. However, the security is more and more reinforced at the border to control the entrances in our country to limit criminals' crossings and trafics, to assure the security of the USA.

Journalist : You talk about the flow of the migrants who live now here ; let me ask Manuela about what does she think.

Manuela : The first months were difficult to integrate the American society. I absolutely not spoke English, just Spanish ; I  learnt the language and the culture. For that, I read, I listened radio, TV, and I spoke with a lot of American people : some of them tried to make an effort to understand me, and sometimes we spoke with the nex language, the "spanglish". You know it ? It's a mix between english and spanish. But the others didn't make any effort...

Journalist : We can say that you integrated our society very well ! You are now the President of the Mexican migrants' association.

Manuela : It was not easy at the beginning...

Journalist : So, can you tell us your story as a migrant who crossed the US-Mexico border ?

Manuela : I was twenty years old, I came from Zacatecas from Mexico. I am the daughter of poor farmers. I didn't want to be like my father or my grand father. So, I went to Tijuana to have a job in fiels because the american farmers needed labour. But, I was without money and document : so, I couldn't bribe the policemen ; I didn't like Tijuana, I decided to cross the border. I cut barbwire. I was in California. The first months were very difficult. It was not easy to earn my living. I slept in sations. I ate badly and not much. I wore american clothes and I learnt english. After a hard work, I succeeded to be a part of the american society !

Journalist : Thank you very much for your testomony ; it's touching and shows us the reality of the ordeal that the migrants have to endure. I'm speaking now to the audience : call (212) 347-6548 to give us your point of view ! John Wilsson, what do you think about the migrants' situation ?

John Wilsson : Of course it is a tragic event for them, but it is their decision to go there ; we are not responsible of the Mexican poverty and of their pathetic travelling conditions. In the USA, there are already people in the needing and I think it's necessary to take care of them in priority. Indeed, we need a political project and measures which keep our country in a right track and insure its security. Thus, I totally agree with Donald Trump's proposal about the wall's building. I am fed up with the immigration ! I live close to the border in Texas and my state is very concerned and we have to deport thses criminals to thei country ! Furthermore ...

Journalist : Wait ! we have a calling from the audience, Miss Andrea Spencer who lives in Boston. We listen to you.

Andrea : Hello, I call you because I was listening your radio program. I would like to give my opinion on the subject ; I find the words of this gentleman (ou man ?) are unacceptable. I can't understand this state of mind. We cannot talk about the migrants like this. We have to treat them like people and not population : we have to take care of these poor people. They have nothing and they  live in miserable conditions. They cross hundreds kilometers and more to hope for a better life ; they look for the American dream but where is it ?!

John Wilsson : It's easy for you to say that ! You live in the North of The United States ; you're far away from the border. You don't live everyday the imprtant flow of migrants, as well as the damages, the consequences of that !

Journalist : Keep calm please ! We will stop the debate here beacause we have no time anymore. To conclude, there is still different opinions and this topic stays sensitive yet. We will see soon the elections' results on November ! Thank you very much for your presence and participation, and to have listened to us. We will meet us soon (nous nous retrouvons bientôt ?...). Good evening on CNN radio ! Bye !

Up svp !
