I’m going to talk about the notion of "MYTHS AND HEROES" First of all, I will give definition of "MYTHS AND HEROES" A Myth is a traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of a people or explaining a natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events. A Hero is a courageous person. He is powerful. He is strong and quick. He fights against evil for peace. He saves. . He is admired and represents a nation. He made great deeds for the people, and thereby risking his life. The hero may be related to myths or real people, they are distinguished by their deeds and their words. To illustrate this I have chosen two documents "Rosa Parks, the woman who sparked the Civil Rights Movement" and an audio listening in class about "Malala Yousafzai's fight" PBq : To begin with Malala's speech, I'm going to present her acts, then, I will speak of Rosa Park. First of all, Malala is a Pakistani teenager, she delivered a speech at the United Nations. She has campaigned for the rights of young girls, especially, the right to education of children. That day, she was heard by many important politicians. She was there to speak for those whose voices are not heard. She referred to the attack by the Taliban. But nothing has changed in her life, this attack has made her stronger and more courageous to continue her fight. The fight for the education of young girls, Malala strives to ensure the freedom of each of them, so that they live in good conditions in society. In addition, She is serious, mature, brave, and she fights for her ideals. she is the heroine of our time. Transitions : So now, let's talking about the peoples of the past, who have became superheroes, unforgettable and source of hope and inspiration. These people are the heroes of segregation, we choose them because they were regarded as subhuman, but now, they are considered heroes. Let's take the example of Rosa Parks, a black woman. she embodies the struggle for the rights of black people and also the rights of women in1955. She refused to leave her seat to a white, because she considers that the blacks should have the same rights as whites. And Martin Luther King has helped her in her struggle and became the leader of the non-violent struggle against racial segregation. For the people, they are heroes because they fought for their beliefs and ideas with determination and courage. Rosa Parks became a celebrity, a myth, a symbol, an icon. The qualities of Malala and Rosa Parks are characteristic of a hero. (Courage, desire, hope, strength, defence and cause). A true hero must act to the common interest as Malala and Rosa Parks. Indeed, few people have the capacity to change the minds of people, to convey their ideas, their messages. They inspire men and women. We conclude that, depending on the circumstances, anyone can become a hero because there is a real impact by their actions in the world.
