The Idea of Progress  

The Idea of Progress is the theory that the different advances in technology, science, and social organization can produce an improvement in the human condition. the world can become better in terms of art, science, technology, liberty, and quality of life.However, sometimes progress causes more problems than it solves .Consequently, we are coing to weigh the positive and negatives aspects of progress, in science , in medicine and in new technologies. The progress can be always positive ?
To my mind, the documents thats seems to best illustrate the notion is the document » why i want a wife » , the document « the internet is bad , the internet is good »with the video of Orwell  and a parody on facebook .

First progress are a source of many benefits, in fact we could see in the document « i want a wife « Indeed, as explained Judy Syfers before women were considered only good to look after the children, do the housework and cooking, in his text Judy subtly said that the woman is actually considered an object. But the progress helped to end this vision of women. 
Then the internet is one of the greatest innovation in recent years, it is true that today almost all people use because it’s the opportunity to learn many things, meeting people through social networks, to maintain contact with his family and to occupy his free time. Internet helps bring everyone to the same level as it is very accessible. 
However, there are bad sides to this progress especially with the internet.

Orwell is a writer and English journalist for the internet it is a bad thing, as we have seen in a document studied in class. I think on the one hand it is right because everything that we do and look on the internet is kept thus our personnal information becomes available to everyone and after there is no return possible , because nothong is really delated . But the internet and this network are sometimes a bad thing because as shown parody our facebook friends are not really, in real life we do not go ask someone "wants you to be my friend" "confirm or" ignore ", then compromising pictures you can be put saw everyone , as we have seen on the parody . Thus its important to be careful when we go on the internet and do not abuse the social networks to not end up socially isolated

 

To conclude progress can be good as bad. While advances in women's vision brought much as they can now vote and equality of gender is increasingly true. But some progress has bad side and can even endanger us or isolate ourselves from society, I speak here of the Internet and social networks. So the progress is not always good.
