I am going to talk about Bobby Fischer. Most of you probably dont know him. It's cool because I'll teach you something. Robert James Fischer, called Bobby Fischer, was born in 1943 in Chicago, in the US. His parents were Jewish. The reemergence of anti-Semitism prompted Bobby's parents to go to the US. But his father could not follow Bobby's mother. His German citizenship barred him from entering the US.That's why Bobby has never known his father. In March 1949, 6-year-old Bobby learned how to play chess using the instructions from a set bought at a candy store. In July 1956, the 13 years old Fischer won the U.S. Junior Chess Championship and in 1957 US championchip and became the country's youngest chess master. He was only 14. Bobby's interest in chess became more important than schoolwork and he dropped out of high school at 16, the earliest he could legally do. He said « We learn nothing at school. It's just a waste of time. Teachers are stupid. It's ridiculous. » and much more... This will seem strange to you but he has made a TV show! It was like secret story, it was called « i've got a secret ».He did it because his family had not money. His secret was "I am the US chess champion". Fischer managed to keep his secret and won the game. Since 1927, the chess world was dominated by the Soviet, so Fischer learned Russian just for understand Soviet books. In March 1962 after the tournament of candidates he accused the Soviets of plotting to keep the title of champion of the world and remove players from other nations. he said « they do short drawn games between them to preserve their energy against me ». In 1965, FIDE changed the qualification cycle rules by organizing matches by elimination rather than a round robin tournament. After this tournament he stopped cometition but returned in 1972 and became the new World Champion. In Iceland, he did the "match of the century", which held the audience spellbound for the games and the events out of competition (threat of Fischer not to participate, he was not present for the second game, its demands on the placement of cameras or absence of contact with the public, etc.), he became world champion in the summer of 1972, beating Russian Boris Spassky, outgoing world champion he had never played before. This success, widely publicized, temporarily ended 24 years of Soviet hegemony over the chess world, and was a turning point in the competition between the US and USSR during the Cold War. This victory was very important for the US. The Soviet said that they were smarter than the US because they dominated chess. So during the Cold War the chess games were a very strange way of making war. In 1972 the Americans have won. In very little time Fischer had become a national symbol. But like so many chess players, Te Symbol had psychological problems too. He thought be monitored by the CIA, thought his phone was on listening. From 1975 and after the abandonment of its title (he was not agree with the Settlement), Fischer fell into a growing paranoia, particularly against Jews and the United States he accused of plotting against him. He was Jewish, Anti-semitic, Anti-american and Anti-Christian... Fischer comes on the chessboard one last time in 1992 in Yugoslavia. He plays a rematch with Spassky and wins a second time. But Yugoslavia was at that time under embargo of the United States. He ended his life in different countries and finally settled in Iceland where he dies in 2008. Voila, merci d'avance Lyova

This will seem strange to you but he has made a TV show! < C'est toujours le récit d'un événement passé/révolu/terminé sans lien avec le présent = prétérit. It was like secret story, it was called « I've got a secret ».He did it because his family had not money. His secret was "I am the US chess champion". Fischer managed to keep his secret and won the game. Since 1927, the chess world was dominated by the Soviet, so Fischer learned Russian just for to understand Soviet books.< Le but s'exprime toujours par to/in order to + BV. La préposition for ne peut pas être suivie d'une BV, c'est à savoir. So during the Cold War the chess games were a very strange way of making war. In 1972 the Americans have won. < prétérit encore ! In very little time Fischer had become a national symbol. But like so many chess players, Te Symbol < ??? had psychological problems too. He thought being/he was monitored by the CIA, thought his phone was on listening being tapped. From 1975 and after the abandonment of its his title (he was did not agree with the Settlement), Fischer fell into a growing paranoia, particularly against Jews and the United States he accused of plotting against him. He was Jewish, anti-semitic, anti-American and anti-Christian...< Rappel : l'adjectif possessif s'accorde en genre et en nombre avec le nom du possesseur ! Fischer comes came to the chessboard one last time in 1992 in Yugoslavia. He plays played a rematch with Spassky and wins won a second time. But Yugoslavia was at that time under embargo of the United States. He ended his life in different countries and finally settled in Iceland where he dies died in 2008. Bonne continuation.
