Fathermore, special days are created such as Black Friday in the USA, but lot of states wich practise Black Friday: United Kingdom, Canada... It's the start of the period of shopping Christmas. It's a day when numerous stores make bargains to attract people. But this event it also know for it's sometimes mortal accidents. There ara a few victims of Black Friday. A shop assistant have died and an other woman was seriously injured. Today, one account 7 dead poeple. As we have seen in a video, this day can be compared with a jungle. Consumers are insane, frantic, ruthless. It shows a bad image of our society, we are selfih and pitiless. II a) Then, in the second part, we'll see the consequences of this consumption. To sart with, some artists denounce this phenomenom. For exemple, Barbara Kruger's photomontage. On this image, an Anonymous hand takes a card with a red background. On this card, there is a sentence: "I shop therefore I am". the card could be a credit card. The message makes reference to that of Descartes: "I think, therefore I am". She want's to criticizes consumer society and the behaviour in our society. The message which she makes pass adresses the people who are addicted to shopping and shopaholic. The message is: that we should stop consumming more than we need. b) To continue in the consequences we go to see that people react and boycott this season of shopping. We were able to see in an interwiew of Kate Lasn for the CNN. The americains are compared to pigs in a ad because they are big consumers. They consumed 10 times more the Chinese, 30 times more than the Indian and 5 times more than the Mexicans. That engenders negative effects on the environment: climate change and pollution. "Buy nothing day" spends the same day as "Black Friday", it could hurt the economy but in a short term and americains must preserve the future generetions Conclusion To conclude, several reasons we make increase the consumption of our society: the sales, hundreds of ads to make sell their products... However, this consumption has numerous consequences. The planet is affected by this change, it engenders of the pollution. In my opinion, the consumption is not a primary source of happiness then it is necessary to find a just balance. The challenge would be to consume in a reasonable and responsible way.
