Merci d'avance I am going to talk about the notion of myths and heros. A myth can be defined a story about heroes or popular belief. The hero is admired for his achievements, qualities and his courage. He can be fictional or real. We will ask : Why does a society create myths and heroes ? The hero can be an ideal. So each person has their favorite hero either in childhood or even later. Batman , Superman or Spiderman have superpowers and help the population. With theme the population is secure. But the hero can be a real person. There are lot of hero in our world. This heroes have not superpowers but they are courageous and they defended an idea. For example Rosa Parks and Martin Luter King have fought for equality between blacks and whites. Rosa Parks a black woman, refused to give up her seat when a white man had ordered her to get up and sit at the back of the bus. In the mid 50s, being black meant being confronted every day with the same humiliations. Segregation reigned in all public places. She showed America that she was the victim of an injustice which had to be fought and vanquished. The pastor Martin Luther King with a group of militants, started a protest campaign, and organized a boycott of the city bus line, that was going to last 381 days. The boycott changed many people's view on the way they treated each other back then. If Rosa Parks didn't choose to react the way when the bus driver asked her to get out of her seat, then we would probably still be having racial problems on buses. On 1 December, 1955, with her courage, seamstress Rosa Parks changed America forever. Today people of all color can sit wherever they wish on buses throughout the nation due to the courage and determination of one woman, Rosa Parks. Then there are differents myths wich are transmitted over time. The gotic fiction was born in 1764 and it is associated with romanticism. Gothic artists rejected what was national. Gothic artists were fascinated by terror, mystery, the supernatural and wild landscapes. The main characters of gothic fiction include vilains, vampires, werewolves, monsters, ghosts, skeletors and the devil. Dracula is a popular myth in the gothic fiction. The vampire is surantural and mysterious. His victime is entranced or fascined by power. This myth was taken in 2008 with the saga :Twilight. The figures show the success. In gothic fiction the scenes take place in extreme landscapes like high mountains , thick forests or icy wastelands. In conclusion, the population create myths and heroes to dream the best of the world and imagine perfection. The real heroes are model enable progresss in the right direction.
