Barbados is an Caribbean island in the Atlantic ocean. It is situated just east of the Caribbean ocean and North east of Trinidad.

The island was colonized by the British in the 17th century.

Many slaves for Africa and prisoners for Ireland worked in Barbados on the sugar, tobacco and cotton plantations.

In 1966, Barbados became an independent and Commonwealth realm. It is now ruled by Queen Elizabeth II.

The official language of Barbados is english but many people speak a creole dialect called "Bajan".

There is famous people from Barbados as Rihanna and Garry Sobers.

But there is also the Pirates Stede Bonnet and Sam Lord, who lived in there during The Golden Age of Piracy.
