Merci d'avance et courage à ceux qui le feront ! English : Prisoner of Conscience A Cause : The armed conflicts. The armed conflicts have also their great part of responsabilities because they tend to violate the Human Rights, so they arouse prisoners of conscience in the world. Indeed, in war times, rules exist and must be juridically respected, but some authorities have mind of its own. Let's explain it. At the beginning some tensions appear between some states but most of them happen inside a state. They generally start with troubles of ethnicity, identity, religions, rivalries, etc. They are very harmless but they grow up with the time and can turn into a dramatic situation or not. For example, one of the most famous worldwide avoid conflict is the Cuban Missiles Crisis in 1962 which was an increasing conflict between the USSR and the USA. Fortunately, it had been controlled. However armed conflitcs with major stakes do exist. For instance, the war between the USA and the islamist terrorism in 2001 after the attacks on 11 september. These stakes are for example strategic ( for territories ), ideological ( religions, politics, convictions,.. ), influential ( in order to brush up its image ), or economic, because some countries have some resources that other countries yearn for. For example, the most famous ones are petrol, diamonds, minerals, etc. These armed conflitcs touch some population in a so dreadful way that the International Human Rights Law has been created for reducing the consequences over these populations. But some countries don't care about. They just want to manipulate international institutions because of their contempt of the human rights and also in order to assume any responsability as for these terrible brutalities. People who express publicly their ideas, their convictions, or who have any ethnicity, nationality, or social origin, which are against the decisions of a government, become then jailed. And if they have done it in a pacific way, it means that they are prisoners of conscience. After that, they are arbritrarely judged in order to be sure that they won't be able to demonstrate their opinions again and to not disturb the stability of the state. The authorities can also decide to torture them physically or mentally in such a way that they are intimidated or restrained or in order to make them confess about something related to their country. Torture is very solicited in a state or threat of war, an internal political instability or any other public emergency. So we can conclude that the armed conflicts don't respect the human rights, they tend to provoke also the authorities to be more violent and intolerant so as to have power over the opposition and so commit a repression against their population. 2nd article : Bahrain opposition parties: Al Marzooq is a prisoner of conscience, must be immediately released Now an other event about prisoners of conscience that has happened recently. This article from 23 octobor 2013 is about Khalil Al Marzooq who is a prisonner of conscience in Bahrain nowadays. Al Marzooq was jailed about the conflict in Bahrain which brings into opposition a party demanding democracy and social justice and a party in favour of dictatorship, tyranny and sectarian discrimination. The authorities accused him of calling for violence. Actually, if he was jailed, that's because he was one of the main constructors of the opposition parties. Indeed, Al Marzooq's trial is an indicator which proves that the governement tends to twist facts and uses the force and the violence in order to punish the non-violents opinions and political positions. That's what The National Democratic Opposition Parties stated. Consequently, Al Marzooq's trial must be considered as an message from the state in order to prevent the next incarceration for the Bahraini people. However these people are reputed for their convictions and behaviours of non-violence. They always believe that they have their right to peaceful protestings. On the other side the Democratic Parties are claiming for the release of all prisoners of conscience in Bahrain which will be certaintly a difficult challenge. So in relation with our presentation, this article shows that conflitcts can be the cause of the imprisonement of prisoners of conscience who protest against violent regime , because governements use everything they can in order to have more power and stability in their country as they tend to want to be more powerful and to twist the reality.
