A new statue in San jose State University.

After more than 40 years, Smith an Carlos are always here.

Onctober, 16th, 1968, John Carlos and Tommie Smith won the final of 200 meters in Olympic Games in Mexico City. But, when they went on the victory stand, for hearding their national anthem, they wore black gloves and they raised them, they looked at the ground. They didn't smile and not pleased. In fact, the two athletes were a part of Black Panthers.

Today, the two athletes are in San Jose University to inogurate the new statue wich represents Carlos and Smith when they are in the victory stand. They do their silent gesture, that is to say their gesture was a provocation against the racist and they would to speak against the segregation. This gesture is a symbol for all black people in the world.
