I’m going to talk about the notion of " The Idea of Progress"

 I would like to give a definition : the idea of progress can be defined as an improvement, a development or social advance which makes the world better.

Progress allows the world to evolve, to change for the better to develop through discoveries and scientific, technological and technical innovations. However, this development is not ameliorative for all. Progress is also marked by risk taken, social, economic imbalances... Some progress are also questioned.

 

The subject of my presentation will be news technologies

 

let's ask of the next question : if the progress have always advantages?

Toi illustrate this notion I have chosen 1 documents " Steve Jobs"

Firstly, I will talk about the progress and advantages, then,  disadvantages of new technologies.

 

The first part : New technologies are sources of progress

First of all, Many technologies have appeared in our life. Phones, computers, tablets, television are developed over time . For example, Apple, a multinational company , is the source of much of this technological development .

Apple was created in 1973 by Steve Jobs. The first product of the brand is a computer with, as its name suggests, an apple. His marketing approach is based on innovation and aesthetics of its products which is often appreciated by consumers. Apple has managed to establish itself through innovative ideas, such as iPod, iPhone, Macbook Air. This example shows that the business innovation of new electronic devices are sources of technical progress because Apple made sure to increase the comfort of the life of man. Other technologies have revolutionized the way of life

These new technologies improve the communication of men on the internet and to listen to music and so on

 

 

The second part, we will see inconveniences of news technologies

Indeed, any technological machine uses natural resources. Natural resources are not unlimited and so new technologies are causing environmental damage. Moreover, if we take the previous example of Apple, the working conditions of the company are bad and many consumers are dependent on their mobile, computer or other product of Apple. This clearly shows the flaws of this company. We can finally take for example the social networks whose use can be dangerous. Teenagers are most affected and most vulnerable. They may be victim of bullying mental sometimes physical, of insults.

 

The study of this concept allows us to understand that new technologies can improve the comfort, health, economics, politics, philosophy, the environment and knowledge of man but they can be dangerous, if we abused of this, if we do not control their use.

 

 

Technical progress dehumanizes people men are machines with new production techniques (such as in factories). Thus, people are not happy at work. In addition, our way of life are increasingly based on consumption and money.

We are more individualistic and selfish.

We communicate less with our family, and increasingly with the virtual world. Also, Internet and social networks (like Facebook) for privacy are dangerous.

The technical progress allows the to be ever more destructive weapons of war. There are enough nuclear weapons to destroy the planet several times!
