double genitive

Bonjour,

Etant donné qu'en anglais 'correct' on doit dire "He is a friend of my father's" et non "He is a friend of my father", comment dois-je transformer cette phrase, svp ?

He is a friend of the brother of the director. 

a) He is a friend of the director's brother.

b) He is a friend of the director's brother's (???)

Il semblerait que la tournure b) soit la bonne mais souviens-toi que je ne suis pas grammairien.
