J’aimerai bien SVP que vs me corrigiez cette expression écrite d’anglais ci-dessous. Si vs ne comprenez pas ce que je voulais dire en anglais vous pouvez voir cette expression en français.

Midnight Express est un film basé sur la vie réelle histoire de Billy Hayes, américain qui a passé cinq longues, angoissante années dans une prison turque pour avoir tenté d'introduire clandestinement deux kilos de haschisch alors qu'il rentrait chez lui aux Etats-Unis en 1970.

Alan Parker, le réalisateur de ce film, a choisi de changer certains détails du roman pour qu’il plaise mieux aux spectateurs. En effet, des différences importantes existent entre la version littéraire et cinématographique de Midnight Express.

Dans le film, Billy Hayes est en Turquie avec sa petite amie, alors qu’il s’y était rendu seul dans la réalité. Le film utilise l’histoire d’amour pour donner un sens plus émotionnel.

Le film montre très bien la brutalité des turques et les injustices de leur ordre juridique. En effet, des le premier jour de prison, Billy est battu par les turques. De plus, d’après le texte, Billy s’est fait violé mais le film ne le montre pas explicitement. Parker met en scène des allusions à ce sujet là pour montrer le véritable visage des prisons

Billy se considère comme une victime tout au long du film malgré les fautes graves qu’il a commises. De plus on peut remarquer qu’il est soutenu par le réalisateur. En effet le fait qu’on n’entend que la voix rude et grossière des turques et qu’il n’y a aucun sous-titre pour nous faire comprendre, montrent que Parker veut dénoncer la cruauté des turques et veut aussi faire passer Billy pour une personne innocente.

Parker joue aussi beaucoup sur la manière de filmer. Par exemple, quand Billy était au poste de police, la camera était centrée sur lui pour bien montrer qu’il avait vraiment peur.

Les détails techniques très précis de Parker ont pour rôle de plonger le spectateur en pleine action et ainsi de lui transmettre l’émotion directement.

Les changements qu’a pratiqués Parker étaient pour montrer l’univers obscur des prisons (viol, suicide, torture, dépression, crime …), pour dénoncer les injustices de la loi turque, pour montrer que les turques sont racistes (ils détestent les américains), pour montrer que la société turque est corrompue, et pour dire que le véritable coupable ici est les turques et non pas Hayes qui n’est coupable que à cause le manque de maturité et de son jeune.

Midnight Express se distingue comme l'un des films les plus remarquables dans les années 1970 car il a contribué à la sagesse de toute une société et a permet de montrer l’univers brutal des prisons.
