Why do parents sometimes try to influence their children in their choice of job?

Do you think it is a good way of helping them?

Why do parents influence their children in their choice of job??? Maybe because the parents enjoy their job and think that their children will enjoy it too. Or maybe because the parents want their children to have what they didnt manage to have; for example the parents wanted to do some job but they couldn't so if their children manage to do what the parents weren't able to do, it will be some kind of a success (or maybe a revenge) for the parents...Or maybe the parents think that they KNOW what is good for their children...(lol) moreover, sometimes, the parents want their children to keep the family's (je sias jamais comment ça s'écrit...) enterprise (or bakery or farm,...)

is it a good way of helping them??? Yes and no...because the children have the right to decide what they like, what they will do, what they want to be (to have their own personnality not their parent's one) But if they are too much influence, they may choose a job, which they won't like or something they won't be able to do (who has never dreamt to be an astronaut???)

Voila c'est tout ce que j'ai à dire sur le sujet...peut être que la partie sur le fait que c'est bon ou pas pour les enfants est un peu trop courte...et en tout cas, je 'excuse pour les fautes d'orthographe et de grammaire...je ne suis pas, et de loin bon en anglais
