This is a picture of Nelson Mandela , a man who actively beats the Apartheid. The Apartheid was a system of segregation between the white and the black people. In fact the white and black were divided and the white have all the rights. The rights of the majority ( non-white people) were reduced in opposite with the rights of the white people that are maintained. Nelson Mandela was release in 1990 from jail. Then he led his party in the negotiation that led to multi-racial democracy .
This picture shows the fall of Berlin Wall which completely cut off West Berlin from surrounding east Germany and from east Berlin. In fact, all had begun with the building of the wall in 1961. However it took about three decades until the wall was torn down. But why the wall was built? In fact it dates back to the end of the Second world War when Europe was divided into two parts.
And a lot of people wanted to leave the east regime ( there was a kind of ''mass exodus''). So it was to prevent people going to the West Europe and they decided to build the wall. It's a great symbol because it means the end of the cold war and it is certainly an incredible freedom victory.
''That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind'' . It's the famous line that Neil Armstrong had uttered when he walked for the first time in the moon. In fact it was the achievement of the space race between the USA and the USSR. Apollo 11 was the spaceflight which landed the first humans, Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, Jr on Earth's Moon on 1969. It's an important event because this mission is considered as the major accomplishment in the history of space exploration

Bonjour,
Au cas où cela t'aurait échappé, il y a belle lurette que N.M. a cessé tout activisme anti-Apartheid !
The Apartheid was a system of segregation between the white and the black people. In fact the white and black were divided and the white have had all the rights.
