Pourquoi ? Voici ce que j'ai écris: Sometimes, we can face special situations. For instance, it can be when you witness a lover’s quarrel in your neighborhood with lots of cries for help. But do we know what would we do ? What would I do ? I just imagine: I am walking in my neighborhood, and I hear something, so I decide to find what happen. And then, I can see, a woman and her husband who are arguing, I just think this is a little fight. So I continue my walk and I hear cries for help… What would I do ? I think that in that kind of situation, nobody can really know what he would do. But that’s because we don’t answer themselves concerning this question. So, in that kind of situation, I think that many things would happen in my mind… Would I intervene or not? I mean this is a lover’s quarrel, that’s not my business !!! « People didn’t want to get involved » : that is what said Sullenberg in the excerpt from Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters. But if the woman is crying for help, it might be serious so I think that if I was in that kind of situation, even if it’s not my business, even if I can get involved, I would intervene, I wouldn’t continue my walk as if nothing had happened. Actually, the woman’s cries would get me to intervene because it would alert me that it’s a dangerous situation. However, I don’t judge people who just sit around doing nothing because they are just paralyzed, they are shocked… and I can understand them. I say that I would intervene but I’ve never lived this situation so I just explain what I would want to do. However, I definitely think that I would have a reaction time as everybody: What can I do ? The woman is not exaggerating ? But, finally, I would intervene even if actually, the woman doesn’t need help, because I prefer intervene for « nothing » rather than doing nothing to help her. Then, at this stage of reflection, I have to make a decision: How am I going to intervene ? Because I can intervene in different ways. First of all, I can meet them and try to calm down the fight, to speak with them. But the problem is that if I intervene like that, I can be in danger because the man can harm me. So I take risks if I do that so I don’t think that I would. However, I would call someone like the police to explain the situation and I would stay near them until the police arrive. I can also find some people around me, in the neighborhood or in a house to help me to separate the two people. In fact, in that kind of situation it’s easier to intervene with another people because it’s reassuring, I don’t have all of the responsibilities . To end it up, I would intervene, because if I was the woman attacked by my husband - or the other way around, because nowadays, unfortunately, it’s happening more and more: the woman beat her husband - I Would want to be helped by someone. Futhermore, I would intervene because it’s best to intervene rather than doing nothing because you think it’s not important, cause it would be actually dangerous for the woman, I would regret my entire life to have been sitting around doing nothing. Voici ce que j'ai écrit : Sometimes, we can face special situations. For instance, it can be when you witness a lover’s quarrel in your neighborhood with lots of cries for help. What would I do? I just imagine: I am walking in my neighborhood and I hear something, so I decide to find what is going on/happening. Je ne comprends pas. So in that kind of situation I think that many things would happen in my mind… Would I intervene or not? But finally I would intervene even if actually the woman doesn’t need help because I prefer intervening for « nothing » rather than doing nothing to help her. Then, at this stage of reflection, I have to make a decision: How am I going to intervene? Because I can intervene in various/different ways. Bonne continuation.
