Do you remember this magnificent portrait, this extraordinary painting that I realized for Dorian? I'm sure you do! I'm gonna get right to the point and tell you what happened yesterday evening. Lord Henri invited us to dinner. When I arrived, Dorian was already there. We spoke for a few hours, it's been a long time (que nous ne sommes pas réunis). Suddenly I stopped speaking and I fixed Dorian for few minutes and at this moment I remembered why I was there! I remembered of the portrait. Then I thought it was the perfect for him time to discover his portrait. I was sure that this would make him happy and that he would love. I remove without further delay the white veil. There was a long pause. Lord Henri was open-mouthed, surprise, he stood up the painting(il s'approcha de la peinture) and he says to me that it was exactly Dorian. He admired, he analyzed the portrait. he says me also that I realized an excellent work , a new art. LOrd was very amazed of the perfection of the portrait. He wanted even expose it in his living room, in plain sight. Then I look to Dorian to see his reaction. Dorian was nearing gradually of his portrait( il s'approchait petit à petit de son portrait), contemplate it, he touched it softly. He was half wistful and sad. His face was distorted into a demented grimace and tears were streaming down his face.Thein I asked him what he looking so gloomy? does the portrait who makes you sad ? He turned, looked at me and sais:" It was this beautiful face, this attracting eyes, this smile so charming, this golden hair that makes me so unhappy". As i grow old, this picture will remain alwayss young.Suddenly he starts screaming:" I shall not lose my beauty, this is mine". Then he takes the portrait in theirs hand by holding it to his chest and he crying as he never cried. I asked him what makes you cry and he answered: the old age,the useless age. He got down on his knees by holding the portrait for several hours. He couldn't to collect his thoughts. I don't really understand his reaction, I was chocked. That was a very embarassing moment for us, tha was a moment of incomprehension. Lien vers le commentaire Partager sur d’autres sites

I don't know where to start, I am in shock shocked/in a state of shock. Do you remember this magnificent portrait, this extraordinary painting that I realized made (to realize = se rendre compte) for Dorian? I'm sure you do! I'm gonna (attention tout de même à ne pas être trop informel à l'écrit. "going to" serait peut-être plus approprié) get right to the point and tell you what happened yesterday evening. Lord Henri invited us to dinner. When I arrived, Dorian was already there. We spoke talked for a few hours, we hadn't seen each other for a long time. Suddenly I stopped speaking (talking is better) and I fixed stared at (to fix = réparer/arranger) Dorian for a few (few = peu / a few = quelques) minutes and at this moment I remembered why I was there! I remembered of (jamais of après remember) the portrait. Then, I thought it was the perfect time for him to discover his portrait. I was sure that this would make him happy and that he would love it. I removed without further delay the white veil. There was a long pause. Lord Henri was open-mouthed, surprised, he stood up and got closer to the painting and he said to me that it looked exactly like Dorian. He scrutinized and analyzed the portrait. He says also told me that I realized did an excellent work, a new art (un nouvel art ?). Lord was very amazed by the perfection of the portrait. He even wanted to exhibit (mieux que expose pour parler d'un tableau) it in his living room, in plain sight. Then I looked to Dorian to see his reaction. Dorian was gradually getting close to the portrait, contemplated it and touched it softly. He seemed wistful and sad. His face was distorted and showed a demented (que voulais-tu dire ?) grimace and tears were streaming down his face. Then I asked him what he looking so gloomy : "Why do you look so gloomy ? Does the portrait make you sad ?" He turned to look at me and said: "It was This beautiful face, these attracting eyes, this charming smile and this golden hair make me so unhappy. As I get older, this painting will remain always always remain (la chanson c'est "I will always love you" et non "I will love always you" !) young. Suddenly he started screaming: "I shall not (pourquoi pas, même si ça sonne bizarre, que voulais-tu dire ?) lose my beauty, it is mine". Then he took the portrait in theirs his hands, by holding it to his chest and he crying as he never cried pressed it against his chest and cried like never before. I asked him: "What makes you cry ?" (n'oublie pas les guillemets lorsqu'il s'agit d'un discours direct) and he answered: "The old age,the useless age." (Que voulais-tu dire ?) He got down on his knees He knelt down, holding the portrait for several hours. He couldn't to collect his thoughts (je ne comprends pas, que voulais-tu dire ? = rassembler/reprendre ses esprits <=JRB). I didn't really understand his reaction, I was shocked. That was a very embarassing moment for us, that was a moment of incomprehension misunderstanding.
